Dhoom 3 (transl. Blast 3) is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra,[7][8] It stars Aamir KhanKatrina KaifAbhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. It is the third installment of the Dhoom series and the sequel to Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2 (2006).

The film sees Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprise their roles as protagonists Jai and Ali. Aamir Khan plays the antagonist. Tabrett Bethell and Andrew Bicknell are also featured in supporting roles. Made on a budget of ₹125 crore (US$18 million) including printing and advertisement cost, it was one of the most expensive Indian films.[5][9]Dhoom 3 was released on 20 December 2013,[10] as the first Indian film to be released in the IMAX motion picture film format[11] with Dolby Atmos surround sound.[12][13]

The film went on to gross ₹4 billion (US$56 million) worldwide in just ten days, to become the eleventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time.[14][15][16] The film was screened during the 2014 International Film Festival of India in the Celebrating Dance in Indian Cinema section.[17]
